SALISBURY, Md. - Wicomico Recreation & Parks will host its first Great American Day Out on Saturday, June 24 at Pemberton Historical Park.Based on National Wildlife Federation's Great American Campout, Great American Day Out centers around environmental education and learning how to camp responsibly.The event is free to attend and all ages are welcome to participate.Various activities are scheduled throughout the event, which runs from 12-8 p.m. Sessions include:Leave No Trace ActivityWeather / Water Cycle / The Incredible Journey ActivityCampfire Cooking 101Goat YogaGPS Tracking ActivityHiking 101Traveling Turtles / Reptile ProgramBuild-A-Better Fish CraftHistorical HikeGuided Hike and Fishing DemonstrationOwl Pellet DissectionOwl Prowl Hike"Great American Day Out is an opportunity for people to learn and engage with nature while having fun," said Program Director of Environmental Education Fallon Jackson.
