Wicomico Regional Airport Prepares for Winter Weather Event
Salisbury, MD - Wicomico Regional Airport has initiated preparations for a weather event anticipated to impact the region. The weather system is expected to arrive between January 24 and 25, 2026. Officials indicate the facility is ready for the incoming conditions.
Changes to the schedule have been confirmed for the weekend. All airline flights scheduled for Sunday, January 25, are canceled. As a result, airline and rental car personnel will not be present at the facility. The terminal building is set to remain closed for the duration of the day.
Maintenance crews are scheduled to perform snow removal operations throughout the weekend. These efforts will address both the airfield and public areas to ensure safety.
Passengers are advised to contact their airlines directly regarding flight status and any necessary changes to reservations. Additionally, pilots are directed to review current Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs) for the most accurate airfield conditions.
The airport intends to resume standard operations following the weekend closures. Current plans indicate the terminal will reopen on Monday, January 26, 2026.
