Wilmington Man Arrested for Burglary at Senior Living Facility
State of DE - The Delaware State Police have arrested 62-year-old Kem Mays of Wilmington, Delaware. The arrest was made in connection with felony burglary and theft charges following an incident at a senior living facility in Wilmington on Sunday morning.
Troopers responded to Forwood Estates, located at 1912 Marsh Road in Wilmington, Delaware, at approximately 10:30 a.m. on February 15, 2026, regarding a reported theft.
A preliminary investigation determined that the victim, a resident at the facility, had left their apartment at approximately 8:30 a.m. Shortly thereafter, Mays, identified as a facility employee, unlawfully entered the dwelling and removed jewelry.
During the course of the investigation, troopers contacted Mays and successfully recovered the stolen property, which was subsequently returned to the victim. Mays was taken into custody without incident and transported to Troop 1.
Mays was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 11 and released on a $1,200 unsecured bond. He has been charged with Burglary Second Degree (Felony) and Theft Under $1,500 Where Victim is 62 Years of Age or Older (Felony).
