Woman Arrested in Chestertown for Arson & Violence Threats

CHESTERTOWN, MD - On Monday, November 13, deputies arrested Heather Shearer at the Courtyard Inn in Chestertown, MD, in connection with an outstanding warrant from Talbot County.

The warrant included charges for threat of arson and threat of mass violence.

At approximately 7:04 PM, deputies arrived at the Courtyard Inn and proceeded to the room where Shearer was reportedly staying.

Deputies knocked on the door of the room. Shearer answered the door and then sat on a bed inside the room.

The deputies positively identified her and informed her that she was being placed under arrest.

According to the report, Shearer resisted arrest before being taken into custody.

Shearer was charged with the following:

  • Arson/Threat (Misdemeanor)
  • Threat of Mass Violence (Misdemeanor)

Shearer was ordered to be held without bond by the District Court Commissioner. On November 14, 2025, Shearer had a bond review in front of the Honorable Judge Frank M. Kratovil Jr and was again ordered to be held without bond.
