Woman Charged with First-Degree Assault Following Henry Street Disturbance

Cambridge, MD - Cambridge Police Department (CPD) officers responded to a reported assault on February 6, 2026. The incident occurred in the 400 block of Henry Street in Cambridge, Maryland at approximately 4:00 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers contacted the victim at the scene. The victim identified the suspect as 45-year-old Lauren Hale Harrell of Cambridge, Maryland.

According to the police report, Harrell damaged a window on a door, leading to a verbal dispute.

The situation escalated physically when Harrell allegedly pushed and then strangled the victim.

The victim also reported that Harrell made verbal threats against their life during the altercation.

Officers placed Harrell under arrest and transported her to the CPD for processing. She was later transferred to the Dorchester County Department of Corrections on a temporary commitment.

Harrell faces charges of First-Degree Assault, Second-Degree Assault, and Reckless Endangerment. Harrell has been held without bond.
