Berlin, MD - The Worcester County Fire Marshal's Office investigated a residential structure fire at 10504 Woodlawn Road in Berlin, Maryland, on Monday, May 22, 2023.The Berlin Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched for a reported house fire at 5:39 PM. Upon arrival, crews experienced fire conditions in the garage portion of the home that had been converted into a bedroom. Crews worked to bring the fire under control quickly. The single occupant of the house received minor burn injuries due to the fire but refused EMS treatment.Assistance was provided by Ocean City, Showell, Berlin, Ocean Pines, Bishopville, and Willards fire departments.The cause of the fire is considered accidental and is believed to have been contributed by unattended cooking in the garage bedroom.© Eastern Shore Undercover LLC TM/SM.
