Wor-Wic Community College Hosts 23rd Annual Golf Tournament

Salisbury, MD - Wor-Wic Community College recently organized its 23rd annual golf tournament at the Ocean Resorts Golf Club in Berlin, Maryland. The event raised a total of $45,000, with proceeds allocated to support the educational needs of the college's students.


The competition featured several standout teams. Wilmington University earned the top spot in the gross score category, represented by players Malone Harmon, John Dickerson, Linwood Parker, and Donnell Griffin.


Second place was secured by the Avery Hall Insurance team of Shayne Ray, John Hooker, Kris Hooker, and Ben Smith, while the Charles Brown Glass team, consisting of David Brown, Kevin Brown, Tim Perunko, and Rogan Perunko, took third place.


For teams with the best net scores, the Bank of Ocean City claimed first place with players Scott Edmonston, Hank Fisher, Jason Parker, and Brandon Tolan. The Mountaire Farms team of P.J. Cercena, Zach Evans, Mark Ondo, and Jimmy Sweet placed second, followed by the TidalHealth team comprising Warner Crumb, Roger Follebout Jr., Tom Jones, and Mike Laroque in third.


Individual accolades were also awarded during the tournament. Cindy Kleger and Brian Shockley took home honors for the longest drive, while Eddie Downes and Jason Parker emerged as winners of the putting contest.


Closest-to-the-pin awards were presented to Mitchell Adams, Rogan Perunko, Hank Fisher, and Malone Harmon.


The annual golf event continues to play a significant role in raising funds to benefit Wor-Wic's student community while fostering camaraderie among participants and supporters.
