SALISBURY, MD - Wor-Wic Community College will present a Community Arts Showcase of Excellence on Friday, September 12, from 3 to 8 p.m. The event will take place at the college campus located at the corner of Route 50 and Walston Switch Road in Salisbury.

The showcase will feature local artists, musicians, poets and other creators throughout the evening. Participants include nationally recognized writer and illustrator Bryan Collier, a Pocomoke City native and four-time Caldecott Honor recipient.

Berlin painter Patrick Henry will also be featured alongside the Eastern Shore Ballet Theatre, Sri Devi Dance School, the Heart & Sole step team and the Lower Shore Performing Arts Co. Additional performers and exhibitors will participate in the event.

Children's activities and food trucks will be available during the showcase.

Visual arts exhibits will open at Shockley Hall at 3 p.m. Performances will begin at 4:30 p.m. in Guerrieri Hall.

"This is a celebration of our Eastern Shore community and all of its richness. It's a wonderful opportunity to experience so many varied expressions of art in one setting," said Dr. Tiffany Kotra-Loos, clinical coordinator and associate professor in the physical therapist assistant program, and one of the organizers of the event.

The arts showcase is free and open to the public. No registration is required. The event is part of Wor-Wic's 50th anniversary celebration.
