Salisbury, MD - Thirty graduates of the Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) program at Wor-Wic Community College were recently celebrated during an awards and recognition ceremony held on campus.

The ceremony followed the tradition of nurse pinning, a practice that dates back to Florence Nightingale in the 1860s, symbolizing the graduates' official initiation into the nursing profession.

This year's event featured a keynote address by Alana L. Long, assistant professor of nursing, who shared insights and inspiration with the graduating class. Special awards were presented during the ceremony by Dr. Brenda J. Mister, department head and professor of nursing, to recognize outstanding achievements among the students.

Jana Fisher, a member of the graduating class, served as the student speaker and addressed her peers with words of encouragement and reflections on their shared experiences.

Wor-Wic's pinning ceremony is a time-honored tradition that celebrates the hard work and dedication of its nursing graduates as they prepare to enter the healthcare field.
