WORCESTER COUNTY, MD - Worcester County will host its annual Citizens Scrap Tire Drop-Off Day on Saturday, October 4, 2025. The event will run from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Central Landfill in Newark.
The Worcester County Commissioners and the Public Works Recycling Division organize this community service event. The program allows county residents to dispose of unwanted tires at no cost.
"Recycling old and unwanted tires plays an important role in diverting waste from the landfill and increases recycling rates countywide," Recycling Manager Bob Keenan said.
Residents may bring up to 10 tires per household. Photo identification is required for participation. The program accepts passenger and light truck tires only.
Several restrictions apply to the drop-off event. Agricultural tires will not be accepted. Businesses, commercial tire haulers, and generators of scrap tires cannot participate in the program. The event is designed exclusively for Worcester County residents.
Residents seeking additional information about the tire drop-off event may contact Bob Keenan at 410-632-3177, extension 2405.
