Worcester County Commissioners Seek Volunteer for Administrative Charging Committee

Worcester County, MD - The Worcester County Commissioners are currently accepting applications from interested area residents to fill a vacancy on the Administrative Charging Committee. This committee operates under the Maryland Police Accountability Act. There is one open position on the board, and the application period closes on March 31, 2026.

The Administrative Charging Committee is composed of five members responsible for reviewing complaints and investigations regarding police misconduct. The board determines whether an officer should be charged with misconduct and, if charges are brought, recommends appropriate discipline based on the State-created matrix. 

Members appointed to the board are required to complete 40 hours of training prior to beginning their service.

Residents interested in this position are strongly encouraged to submit a letter of interest along with a resume or cover letter detailing relevant experience. 

Applicants should describe their background, skills, and perspective, explaining how their experience would contribute to fair, thorough, and impartial decision-making on the committee.
