Worcester County Commissioners to Host Showell Park Playground Ribbon Cutting

Showell, MD - Worcester County Commissioners will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new playground equipment at Showell Park on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at 2:30 p.m. The event is open to all area residents.
The playground project involved Worcester County Recreation and Parks professionals contracting with All Recreation to install new equipment and surfaces. The installation includes unitary surfacing with nautical-themed play structures across 6,600 square feet of play space. The playground features two adjoining sections designed for different age groups. One section accommodates young children ages 2-5, while the other serves youth ages 5-12. The play structures incorporate inclusive components that allow children of all abilities to play and enable adults of varying ages and abilities to actively engage with their children. Showell Park offers additional amenities beyond the new playground equipment. The facility includes a concession stand, pavilion with grills, basketball courts, tennis and pickleball courts, a walking trail, volleyball pit, picnic tables, and public parking.
