Worcester County Public Works Announces Water Outage for Valve Installation

The work is planned for Tuesday, January 13, 2026, between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. If weather conditions delay the project, the installation will occur on January 14.
Approximately 523 homes in the surrounding area will be affected by this outage. Residents should anticipate a disruption in service lasting roughly six to nine hours. Impacted streets include Assateague Way, West and East Cannonball Drive, and North and South Longboat Way.
Service will also be suspended on East and West Helmsman Way, Pegleg Way, North and South Bay Breeze Drive, Windlass Way, and Rumrunner Drive.
Additional affected locations are North and South Salt Pond Way, Bay Ridge Drive, Bay Watch Drive, Skipjack Drive, East and West Yardarm Drive, and East and West Buccaneer Drive.
Residents may observe brown water once service is restored. This discoloration typically clears after the water runs for a few minutes.
