WORCESTER COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE INVESTIGATES FATAL CRASH IN BISHOPVILLE

Bishopville, MD - On January 12th, 2024, at approximately 10:35 PM, Deputies from the Worcester County Sheriff's Office responded to the 13000 block of Selby Rd in Bishopville, Maryland, for a single-vehicle collision. 

The Worcester County Sheriff's Office Crash Reconstruction Unit was assisted by the Ocean City Police Department's Traffic Safety Unit and the Worcester County State's Attorney's Office.

Initial investigation revealed that a single vehicle left the roadway during inclement weather and collided with a tree, causing the vehicle to sustain extensive damage. 

Responding Emergency Medical Services pronounced the passenger of the vehicle, Nicholas Charles Schewe, deceased on the scene. 

The driver, Liam Strum, was transported to a nearby hospital due to his injuries.

This crash remains open pursuant to an ongoing investigation.
