WORCESTER COUNTY TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO DRUG ARREST
Worcester County, MD - The Maryland State Police have arrested Maria Milagros Garcia, a resident of Greenwood, Delaware, following a routine traffic stop in Worcester County, Maryland.
During the stop, Garcia was found in possession of substances suspected to be cocaine and heroin. The incident occurred shortly before 12:30 AM when a Maryland State trooper from the Berlin Barrack stopped a Kia passenger vehicle owned by Garcia for speeding while traveling south on U.S. Route 113 at Maryland Route 90.
Further investigation revealed that Garcia had an outstanding warrant in Delaware. After this discovery, she was arrested immediately.
In addition to the suspected illegal substances, the troopers also found a taser during a thorough search of the vehicle. Following the arrest, Garcia was taken to the Berlin Barrack for processing before appearing before a district court commissioner.
She now faces several charges, including six counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, concealment of a dangerous weapon, and other traffic-related offenses.
The Maryland Department of State Police, in collaboration with local, state, and federal agencies, continues to work diligently to combat serious crimes that threaten the safety of Maryland citizens. The case involving Garcia is currently under active investigation.
