5-Year-Old Girl Killed in Dorchester County Shooting

Linkwood, MD - Early this morning, the Maryland State Police Easton Barrack responded to a residence in the 3900-block of Ocean Gateway in Dorchester County, Maryland for a report of a shooting.

Troopers arrived around 2:17 a.m. and found two victims with suspected gunshot wounds.

One victim, a five-year-old female, died from her injuries. A second victim, a 30-year-old male, was flown by Maryland State Police Aviation Command to a local trauma center for treatment.

Investigators from the Maryland State Police Homicide Unit responded to the scene. Crime Scene Technicians from the Maryland State Police Forensic Sciences Division also processed the scene for evidence.
