Annapolis Man Charged With Sexual Abuse of Minor at Stevensville Cheer Academy

Queen Anne's County, MD - Maryland State Police have arrested an Annapolis man on multiple charges connected to the sexual abuse of a child in Queen Anne's County, Maryland.

The accused is identified as Dustin Moss Burket, 52, of Annapolis, Maryland. He faces charges of second-degree rape, abuse of a minor, fourth-degree sexual offense, and second-degree assault.

Burket was taken into custody without incident and is currently being held at the Queen Anne's County Detention Center without bond.

The Maryland State Police Criminal Enforcement Division, Eastern Region opened an investigation into Burket on April 3, 2026. The Office of the State's Attorney in Queen Anne's County convened a Grand Jury, which reviewed evidence from the investigation and returned an indictment against Burket.

According to a preliminary investigation, the alleged activities between Burket and a 9-year-old female victim occurred last summer and this spring. The incidents are said to have taken place on the property of the Eastern Shore Cheer Academy in Stevensville. Burket is the owner and operator of the academy.
