Armed Suspect Invades Home of 83-Year-Old Woman in Georgetown, Delaware
Georgetown, DE - Delaware State Police are investigating a frightening home invasion that left an elderly woman shaken but unharmed in Georgetown on Friday morning.
At around 10:30 a.m. on May 15, 2026, troopers responded to the 24000 block of Lawson Road after a home security vendor reported a panic alarm activation at the residence.
When troopers arrived, they learned that an 83-year-old woman had triggered the alarm herself.
An unknown male suspect had forced his way through her front door as she was opening it.
Once inside, the man pointed a handgun at her and demanded to see another person he believed was in the home. The victim did not know the suspect or who he was looking for.

Police describe the suspect as a white male who was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt. He may have been driving a black pickup truck at the time of the incident.
