California Man Charged in Fake FedEx Cargo Theft
State of DE - On September 15, 2026, Delaware State Police troopers responded to University Plaza in Newark, Delaware for a report of a cargo theft.
Troopers spoke with the person who called and learned about a theft that had happened the day before. On September 14, 2026, at approximately 9:15 a.m., two suspects arrived in a tractor-trailer cab at Emolo Consumer Electronics, located at 1146 River Road in New Castle.
The suspects told workers at the business they were FedEx employees.
They showed driver's licenses and shipping documents for a trailer holding more than $680,000 worth of electronics.
The suspects hooked the trailer to their cab and drove away. A short time later, the business found out the shipping documents were fake.
The caller later spotted the tractor-trailer parked at University Plaza and called 9-1-1. While troopers were on the phone with the caller, they saw one of the suspects walking toward the tractor-trailer.
Troopers stopped and spoke with the man, who was identified as 35-year-old Dushatdaman Parihar of Manteca, California. Troopers determined that the driver's licenses used at the warehouse, along with the registration plate on the tractor-trailer, were fraudulent.
Parihar was taken into custody without incident and brought to Troop 2. The trailer was recovered and returned to the business with all of the cargo still inside.
Parihar was charged with theft where the property value is $100,000 or more, forgery first degree, forgery second degree, conspiracy second degree, and displaying a fictitious registration plate. He was arraigned by the Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the Department of Correction on a $66,550 secured bond.
