Cambridge Man Charged in Laundromat Burglary
Cambridge, MD - A Cambridge man is facing multiple criminal charges after police say he broke into a secured room at a local laundromat and stole coins from the machines inside.
Cambridge Police Department officers responded to Choptank Corner Laundromat at approximately 1:49 p.m. on May 24, 2026, after receiving a report of a burglary. Property management told officers that someone had forced their way into a secured room inside the business.
Officers saw damage to the door and to coin machines inside the room. A review of video footage helped investigators identify the suspect as Christian Lee Hill, 49, of Cambridge.
According to investigators, the footage showed Hill forcing his way into the locked room and using a drill to break into the coin machines. Hill was then seen leaving the building and returning with an empty soft cooler before leaving again with a cooler that appeared to be full and heavy.
Officers applied for charges against Hill through the Court Commissioner, who issued a criminal summons. That summons was served on Hill on May 26, 2026, at approximately 5:23 p.m.
Hill was charged with Burglary 2nd Degree, Burglary 4th Degree, Malicious Destruction of Property Less Than $1,000, Malicious Destruction of Property Over $1,000, and Theft $1,500 to Under $25,000.
