Cambridge Man Cited for Theft at Wawa After Repeated Incidents

Cambridge, MD - A Cambridge man was issued a criminal citation after Cambridge Police officers responded to a Wawa convenience store on two separate days following multiple reports of theft.

On May 5, 2026, officers with the Cambridge Police Department were called to the Wawa located at 601 Sunburst Highway at approximately 12:58 p.m. Employees told officers that a male subject had been seen eating food inside the store without paying for it.

Staff also reported that the same man had stolen food earlier that morning at around 11:11 a.m. He was asked to leave the store at that time. The subject returned to the Wawa at approximately 11:51 a.m. and was again seen eating food items inside before being told to leave a second time.

The following morning, on May 6, 2026, officers returned to the area at approximately 10:03 a.m. after receiving a report that the same subject had been spotted nearby. Officers were given a description of the man and a direction of travel.

Officers located the subject near the Family Dollar store adjacent to the Wawa. The man was identified as Glenn Darnell McBride, 61 years old, of Cambridge, Maryland.

McBride was issued a Criminal Citation and released. He was charged with one count of Theft Less Than $100.00.
