Cambridge Police Are Investigating A Robbery & Abduction
Cambridge, MD - The Cambridge Police Department is investigating a robbery, assault, and abduction that occurred on the evening of February 20, 2026. Officers responded to the 200 block of Virginia Avenue at approximately 7:39 a.m. on February 21 to take the initial report.
The victim stated the incident began around 7:00 p.m. the previous day. The victim was near the Sail Winds Visitors Center and observed an older model tan or gold SUV circling the area. The victim reportedly felt "uncomfortable" and walked away.
The same vehicle approached the victim near the intersection of Dorchester Avenue and Henry Street. An African American male wearing all black clothing and a ski mask exited the vehicle.
He struck the victim in the face multiple times. A female suspect then exited the vehicle and kicked the victim.
The male suspect held a box cutter against the victim and demanded they enter the vehicle. The victim complied and was held against their will.
The male suspect then demanded money. The victim directed the suspects to a residence in the 200 block of Virginia Avenue. The suspects drove the victim to the residence, obtained the money, and released the victim.
Responding officers observed physical injuries consistent with the victim's statement. Area video footage was reviewed by investigators. The suspect vehicle was identified as a gold or tan two-wheel drive Ford Explorer or Ford Expedition with aluminum wheels.
