Cambridge Police Department Arrests James McCoy for Burglary and Trespassing
Cambridge, MD - On February 22, 2026, at approximately 4:29 p.m., officers from the Cambridge Police Department responded to a report of trespassing in the 500 block of Dobson Street. Upon arrival, officers located a subject sleeping on the front porch of a residence.
The individual was identified as 47-year-old James McCoy of Cambridge, Maryland. Officers contacted the property owner, who advised that McCoy did not have permission to be on the premises.
Further investigation revealed that McCoy had been officially banned from the property at the end of January.
McCoy was subsequently placed under arrest. He was transported to the CPD for processing. Following the booking procedures, McCoy was released on a $1,000 unsecured bond.
McCoy has been formally charged with the following offenses:
Burglary 4th Degree Dwelling
Trespass Private Property
