Cambridge Police Investigate Shooting That Injured Teen
Dorchester County, MD - On July 25, 2026 at approximately 12:49 a.m., the Cambridge Police Department responded to the 400 block of Willis Street after receiving a ShotSpotter alert.
While officers were responding, they learned a 17-year-old male had arrived at a local emergency room with gunshot wounds to his face and foot.
The teen was flown to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center for treatment. He has since been released.
According to police, the victim was sitting in the front passenger seat of a vehicle in the 400 block of Willis Street when a large group, believed to be made up of juveniles, approached the car. One of the individuals had a handgun and fired two rounds into the vehicle, striking the victim.
The investigation is ongoing and detectives are still gathering information. Police believe the shooting was the result of a disagreement between both parties and say there is no threat to the public.
