Cambridge Teen Charged with Assault and False Imprisonment Following Morning Disturbance
Cambridge, MD - On April 13, 2026, at approximately 9:40 a.m., Cambridge Police Officers responded to the 500 block of Rigby Avenue for a reported physical disturbance. Upon their arrival, contact was made with a female victim.
During the initial investigation, a subject identified as 18-year-old Charlie Navarro Rodriguez of Cambridge, Maryland, repeatedly interfered with officers.
Rodriguez blocked officers from speaking with the victim and had to be physically moved. A disturbance was maintained as he continued to yell at the scene.
While officers were placing him into custody, the arrest was resisted by Rodriguez pulling away. He was quickly subdued and arrested.
The victim then reported that she was grabbed, slammed to the floor, and dragged by her feet by Rodriguez. It was also determined that the victim was not allowed to leave the residence.
Rodriguez was transported to the Cambridge Police Department for processing and was later released on his personal recognizance. He has been charged with second-degree assault, false imprisonment, obstructing and hindering, and resisting arrest.
