Cambridge Woman Arrested for DUI After Crash on Washington St
Cambridge, MD - A Cambridge woman was arrested last Thursday after a crash raised concerns about her condition behind the wheel.
At approximately 4:09 p.m. on May 8, 2026, Cambridge Police Department officers responded to the intersection of Washington Street and Maces Lane for a reported motor vehicle collision. Officers made contact with one of the drivers at the scene.
That driver was identified as Lauren Patrice Wilkinson, 23, of Hurlock, Maryland. Officers observed that Wilkinson had slurred speech, that there was an odor of alcohol coming from her, and that she appeared to be under the influence.
Officers asked Wilkinson to perform standardized field sobriety tests. She agreed to do so. Based on her performance, officers placed her under arrest.
Wilkinson was transported to Cambridge Police Department headquarters for processing. She was issued citations and later released.
Wilkinson now faces the following charges:
Driving Vehicle While Under the Influence of Alcohol, Driving While Impaired by Alcohol, Failure to Display License, Negligent Driving, Fail to Drive Right of Center, Failure to Yield Right of Way on Left Turn, Failure to Control Vehicle Speed to Avoid Collision, Failure to Obey Properly Placed Traffic Control Device, and Unsafe Lane Changing.
