Talbot County, MD - The Talbot County Sheriff's Office has arrested a Saint Michaels man on theft and drug charges. Malik I. Wilson, 28, was charged with the unauthorized use of a credit card and possession of a controlled dangerous substance.

In November 2025, deputies from the Patrol Division were contacted by the family of a local resident. The family reported fraudulent purchases on the victim's credit card beginning in September 2025.

The victim, who was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer, had employed Wilson as a caretaker through a local home care agency. Detectives linked Wilson to more than $6,500 in unauthorized business transactions.

In March 2026, a search and seizure warrant was executed at Wilson's residence. The operation involved the Talbot County Sheriff's Office and the Easton Police Department's Crisis Response Unit.

Investigators recovered property purchased with the stolen credit card. They also located 3.5 ounces of cocaine and other evidence indicating drug distribution.

Wilson was transported to the Talbot County Detention Center. He was served with an arrest warrant for theft and the unauthorized use of a credit card. He also faced additional charges for possession with intent to distribute cocaine and possession of cocaine.

During his initial appearance, Wilson was released on a $5,000 unsecured bond for the theft charges. He was initially held without bond for the drug offenses. The following day, a District Court judge reviewed the case and released Wilson on a $10,000 unsecured personal bond for the drug charges.
