Caroline County Sheriff Seeks Non-Compliant Sex Offender

Greensboro, MD - The Caroline County Sheriff's Office is asking for the community's help locating a registered sex offender who has stopped following the rules. Deputies say Gary Lee Corkell failed to meet his state-required registration obligations.

Corkell, 65, is described as a white male standing about 5'10" and weighing around 185 pounds. He has brown and grey hair with blue eyes. He is from the Greensboro, Maryland area.

As a registered sex offender, Corkell is required by law to re-register every three months. Officials say he did not comply, and a warrant has now been issued for his arrest.

The Sheriff's Office is urging residents not to try to approach or apprehend Corkell themselves.

Instead, anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call the Caroline County Sheriff's Office right away.

This case is part of a broader effort by local law enforcement to keep registered offender information current and accessible to the public. Registration laws exist so that communities can stay informed about offenders living nearby. When someone fails to comply, it makes that information harder to track.
