Chestertown Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Arrest

Kent County, MD - On September 23, 2026, the Kent County Sheriff's Office conducted a traffic stop on High Street in Chestertown, Maryland. Corporal P. Hudson stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation.

Corporal Walker of the Chestertown Police Department brought his assigned K9, Trilla, to the scene. Trilla checked the vehicle and gave a positive alert.

The alert gave law enforcement probable cause to search the vehicle. During the search, Corporal Hudson found suspected cocaine and drug paraphernalia.

The driver, Luis Raul Colon Perez, 49, of Chestertown, Maryland, was arrested. He was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance other than cannabis and possession of paraphernalia.

Colon Perez was released after being issued criminal citations.
