Crisfield Man Arrested After Break-In on Somers Cove
Crisfield, MD - On July 29, 2026, at approximately 9:57 p.m., the Crisfield Police Department responded to Somers Cove in Crisfield, Maryland, for a report of a breaking and entering.
Officers arrived and spoke with the victim, who told them he was asleep in his bedroom, when he heard someone come into his apartment.
The victim said he heard his bedroom door open and close before the person left. Officers searched the area and located a suspect a short distance from the home. The suspect was arrested without incident.
The investigation showed the suspect got into the apartment through a bedroom window.
Police say he was joined by a juvenile accomplice, who is not being named due to age. Nothing was reported stolen from the residence.
The man arrested has been identified as Demetrius Lavar Ellis, 26, of Crisfield, Maryland. He was charged with Burglary in the Fourth Degree.
Ellis was presented to a District Court Commissioner and is currently being held without bond.
