Somerset County, MD - A Somerset County man is facing a long list of charges after police say he was arrested twice in just a few hours, with the second arrest turning up a loaded handgun.

The incidents happened on South 4th Street in Crisfield, Maryland.

According to the Crisfield Police Department, officers first responded to the Elks Lodge, located at 120 S. 4th Street in Crisfield, Maryland, around 9:30 p.m. on July 17 for a reported assault. This incident was published on Eastern Shore Undercover.

That call led to the arrest of 34-year-old Andre Lamont Schoolfield of Princess Anne, Maryland.

Schoolfield was charged with Disorderly Conduct, Resisting Arrest, and Assault 2nd Degree.
He was taken before a District Court Commissioner and subsequently released on his own personal recognizance.

A short time after being released, police say Schoolfield went right back to the same location and started causing problems again.

Just before 2 a.m., Crisfield Police and the Somerset County Sheriff's Office returned to the scene for a second time. During this encounter, officers say a handgun fell out of Schoolfield's waistband.

The gun was recovered on the spot, and Schoolfield was arrested again, a second time. This time, the charges were much more serious.

He now faces charges including Handgun on Person, Firearm Possession with a Felony Conviction, and Knowingly Altering a Firearm ID Number, along with several other handgun-related offenses.

Schoolfield is currently being held on a recalcitrant hold from a District Court Commissioner. Apparently, Schoolfield was not cooperative with the commissioner and was placed on a hold.
