Delaware Man Charged for Violating No Contact Order
State of DE - On Friday, July 24, 2026, at approximately 4:00 p.m., the Felton Police Department was contacted by a victim regarding an alleged violation of a court-issued No Contact Order.
During the investigation, officers developed probable cause showing that the suspect had allegedly violated the order by sending mail to the victim. The letters came from the Sussex Correctional Institution, where he is currently incarcerated.
Investigators allege the correspondence attempted to influence the victim not to appear in court for pending criminal proceedings involving the suspect.
As a result of the investigation, Steven Ryan Huey Sr., 46, of Felton, Delaware, was charged with the following offenses:
- Act of Intimidation to Prevent a Victim or Witness from Reporting or Testifying (Class D Felony)
- Breach of Conditions of Bond During Commitment (Class G Felony)
Huey was arraigned via video before the Justice of the Peace Court. He was issued a $12,000 cash-only bond and remains in the custody of the Delaware Department of Correction.
The court-issued No Contact Order remains in effect.
