State of DE - The Delaware Natural Resources Police (DNRP) are asking the public to help make the holidays brighter for children across the state. Starting November 1, 2026, officers will be collecting toys for families in need in New Castle, Kent and Sussex Counties.

Every toy collected will go to the local branch of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program. The toys will then be handed out as holiday gifts to kids in communities all over Delaware.

Toys for Tots is a national program. It gathers new toys for children of all ages and gives them out as presents to kids from families who are struggling.

Here in Delaware, the effort is led by officers from all three DNRP units. That includes the Fish and Wildlife unit, the Environmental Crimes unit and the State Parks unit.

Donation boxes will be set up at Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) locations around the state. All toys must be new and unwrapped.

The last day to drop off toys in New Castle County is Monday, December 7, 2026. In Kent and Sussex Counties, toys will be accepted through Wednesday, December 9, 2026.

There are several places to drop off a toy. Every Delaware State Park office in the state has a donation box, and that includes the Brandywine Zoo in Wilmington. These offices take toys Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

In Sussex County, toys can also be brought to the DNRP Office, 23530 Campbell Circle, Georgetown, Delaware. That office takes donations Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

In Kent County, donors can stop by the DNREC Richardson & Robbins Building, 89 Kings Highway, Dover, Delaware. Toys are accepted there Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Officers will also be at upcoming events where people can donate toys. Anyone who wants the dates and places of those events, or has other questions, can reach out to one of the officers below.
