Delaware State Police Investigate Shots Fired in Lincoln

Sussex County, DE - Delaware State Police are investigating a shots fired incident that happened early Saturday morning in Lincoln, Delaware.

On July 25, 2026, at approximately 1:30 a.m., troopers responded to a residence in the 18000 block of Silver Maple Drive for a report of shots fired.

When troopers arrived, they found multiple spent shell casings at the scene. They also determined that the home had been struck by gunfire during the incident.

The residence was occupied at the time of the shooting. Thankfully, no one inside the home was hurt.

The case has since been handed over to the Delaware State Police Criminal Investigations Unit. Detectives are now working to figure out who is responsible and why the home was targeted.

Right now, police have not released any information about a motive or a suspect. This is still an early and active investigation, and details may be limited as detectives continue their work.
