Delmar Hotel Disturbance Ends in Assault Charges
Delmar, MD - Delmar Police officers responded to a disturbance at a local hotel this weekend that ended with an arrest and several charges. The call came in from the Blue Starr Inn on Ocean Highway in Delmar, Maryland.
According to Delmar Police, officers were dispatched to the hotel on July 18, 2026, at 7:17 PM. The call came in after a man was reportedly yelling and making threats toward other guests at the property.
When officers arrived, they made contact with 36-year-old Timothy Lee Wheatly. Police say Wheatly was aggressive from the start of the encounter.
The investigation showed that Wheatly had approached several people at the hotel and made threats toward them. Those threats reportedly left the victims fearing they could be hurt.
