Dover Bar Stabbing Leaves Victim in Critical Condition, Felton Man Arrested
State of DE - A night out at a Dover bar turned violent late Sunday, leaving one man in critical condition and another facing serious felony charges.
Delaware State Police responded to Touchdown Lounge at 1666 South DuPont Highway in Dover just after 11:20 p.m. on May 3, 2026. Officers were called to the scene after a man was stabbed inside and outside the bar.
When troopers arrived, they learned that the victim had been stabbed by Charles Murray, 44, of Felton, Delaware. Both men were transported to an area hospital for treatment.
According to investigators, the trouble started when Murray accused the victim and a bartender of stealing his debit card. Murray then punched the victim inside the bar.
After the punch, the victim left the bar and went to a vehicle where a friend was sitting in the driver's seat. The victim began telling his friend what had happened with Murray.
Murray followed them outside and approached the driver's side door. The friend got out of the vehicle, and a physical fight broke out between the friend and Murray.
When the victim moved toward the two men during the struggle, Murray stabbed him multiple times.
Detectives who responded to the hospital learned the victim suffered critical injuries. Murray was not injured.
Murray was taken into custody without incident and transported to Troop 3. He was then arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $102,000 cash bond.
Murray faces the following charges: Assault First Degree (Felony), Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony (Felony), and Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon (Felony).
