Dreyer's Recalls Outshine Fruit Bars Over Glass Concerns

Nationwide - Dreyer's Grand Ice Cream, Inc. is voluntarily recalling select Outshine Fruit Bars. The company says some products may contain small pieces of glass.

The recall covers five flavors of the Outshine 6-Count 2.5-ounce Fruit Bars. Those flavors are Strawberry, Watermelon, Grape, Tangerine and Black Cherry. The Outshine 24-Count 2.5-ounce Variety Pack Fruit Bars are also included.

These products were shipped to retailers across the country. No other Outshine products or flavors are part of this recall.

Consumers can check their freezer for the affected batch codes, which are printed on the packaging along with a best-by date. The recalled codes and their dates are listed below.

Dreyer's says it made the decision after some consumers reported finding glass in the product. So far, no illnesses or injuries have been reported.

Anyone who believes they were hurt by the product should contact a doctor. Consumers who have the recalled fruit bars are asked to throw them away or bring them back to the store where they were bought for a full refund.

In a statement, Dreyer's Grand Ice Cream, Inc. said, "The safety, quality, and integrity of our products remain our highest priority.
