Easton Man, 19, Charged With Assault and Stalking
Talbot County, MD - A 19-year-old Easton man is facing assault and stalking charges after an incident in Cambridge earlier this month.
Jeremy Matthew Carter was taken into custody on October 17, 2026, by deputies with the Talbot County Sheriff's Office. They were serving a warrant that came out of Dorchester County.
The charges are tied to an incident that happened on October 14, 2026, in Cambridge, MD.
The District Court for Dorchester County issued the warrant. It lists first-degree assault, second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, and stalking. Carter is also facing other charges connected to the same incident.
Since Carter was arrested in Talbot County, deputies brought him to the Talbot County Central Booking facility. He was processed there. He then went before a District Court Commissioner for his first appearance.
At first, Carter was held without bail. He stayed in custody while he waited for the courts to take the next step in his case.
That changed on October 22, 2026, when Carter was released on his own recognizance.
