Easton, MD - A shoplifting call at the Easton Target on Wednesday led to an arrest and the discovery of an outstanding warrant.

On May 21, 2026, officers from the Easton Police Department responded to Target, located at 28539 Marlboro Avenue, in reference to a theft in progress.

When officers arrived, store Asset Protection had already detained a suspect.

According to police, Joshua M. Grimes, 35, of Felton, Delaware, had concealed a Lego set inside the store, passed all points of sale, and attempted to leave without paying.

Asset Protection stopped Grimes before he could exit the building.

Officers ran a routine records check on Grimes and discovered he had an active warrant through Queen Anne's County related to a previous trespassing complaint.

Grimes was taken into custody on both the theft charge and the outstanding warrant.

He was transported to the Talbot County Department of Corrections, where he was processed and scheduled to appear before a Talbot County District Court Commissioner.
