Talbot County, MD - On March 14, 2026, at approximately 7:37 p.m., a motor vehicle collision was responded to by officers of the Easton Police Department. The incident occurred in the area of 8 S. Aurora Street in Easton, Maryland.

Upon arrival, a black Honda Accord with heavy front-end damage was observed in the middle of the roadway. A parked and unoccupied blue Toyota Corolla with driver-side damage was also located on the side of South Aurora Street.

It was determined by officers that the Toyota had been pushed into a gray Subaru, which was also parked and unoccupied.

Contact was made with the driver of the Honda, who was identified as 27-year-old Wilmer Cruz Fuentes of Easton, Maryland. A male passenger was also present in the vehicle.

During the interaction, a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected emanating from the breath of Cruz.

Additional signs of possible intoxication were observed, including slow speech, glassy and bloodshot eyes, trouble balancing, and disheveled clothing.

Following these observations, it was believed that the Honda was operated by Cruz while under the influence of alcohol. Cruz was subsequently arrested for driving under the influence.

Citations were issued to Cruz for driving under the influence of alcohol, driving while impaired by alcohol, driving without a license, reckless driving, negligent driving, and failure to control speed to avoid a collision.
