Easton Man Arrested on Warrant for Missing Court Date

Talbot County, MD - Deputies with the Talbot County Sheriff's Office arrested an Easton man on September 13, 2026, after a warrant was issued for his arrest.

The warrant was for Rene Alejandro Lopez Gomez, 26, of Easton, MD. It was issued back on June 26, 2024, by the Talbot County District Court.

Gomez was wanted for failing to appear at a scheduled court hearing. That hearing was tied to an earlier charge against him for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Once deputies took him into custody, Gomez was brought to the Talbot County Central Booking facility. He went through processing there and had an initial appearance before a District Court Commissioner.

Gomez is being held while the court decides on next steps. We reached out to Gomez for comment on this arrest.
