Easton Police Issue Citation Following Retail Theft at Giant Food

Talbot County, MD - On February 27, 2026, officers were dispatched to the Giant Food located at 8223 Elliott Road in Easton, Maryland, in reference to a reported theft. Upon arrival, contact was made with loss prevention personnel.

Officers were informed that a female suspect had exited the establishment with unpaid merchandise. Surveillance footage was provided by loss prevention and reviewed by the responding officers.

The footage showed the suspect taking beer and wine before walking out of the store and passing all points of sale.

On March 5, 2026, officers were notified by the Talbot County Sheriff's Office that an individual matching the suspect's description was currently at their facility. Officers responded to the Sheriff's Office and made contact with 19-year-old Kylaisa A. Cannon of Cambridge, Maryland.

Cannon was confirmed by officers as the individual who had stolen the items from the store. A criminal citation was subsequently issued to Cannon in connection with the theft.
