Easton Woman Charged With Assaulting Two Officers After Grocery Store Disturbance
Easton, MD - An Easton woman is facing multiple charges after a disturbance at a local grocery store turned violent, leaving two law enforcement officers assaulted before the night was over.
On April 17, 2026, at approximately 5:11 p.m., officers with the Easton Police Department responded to the Aldi Grocery Store located at 8147 Ocean Gateway. The call came in for a report of an unwanted person on the property.
When officers arrived, they located the subject across the street at the U-5 Food Store. That person was identified as Ashley Broll, 36, of Easton, Maryland.
Things quickly took a turn during the interaction with Broll. She became disorderly and assaulted a Maryland State Police Trooper who was on scene assisting with the investigation. Broll was placed under arrest.
Broll was then transported to the Talbot County Detention Center for processing. Her behavior, however, did not stop there.
Once inside the detention center, Broll continued what authorities described as erratic behavior. She head-butted an Easton Police Officer in the chest, adding a second assault to the events of that evening.
As a result of the incidents, Broll was charged with Second Degree Assault on Law Enforcement - two counts, along with Disorderly Conduct and Causing a Public Disturbance while Intoxicated.
This case serves as a reminder of the risks law enforcement officers face, even during what may seem like routine calls for service. What started as a simple unwanted person report ended with two officers assaulted and one woman facing serious criminal charges.
