Talbot County, MD - An Easton woman was arrested and charged with Driving Under the Influence last weekend after a routine traffic stop led officers to suspect she was impaired.

On April 19, 2026, at approximately 5:30 p.m., officers with the Easton Police Department pulled over a vehicle driven by Vicki L. Norris-Hauler, 49, of Easton, Maryland. The stop was initiated after officers observed the vehicle fail to come to a complete stop at a stop sign.

Once officers made contact with Norris-Hauler, they noticed signs of possible intoxication.

Standardized Field Sobriety Tests were then conducted at the scene. Based on the results of those tests, officers charged Norris-Hauler with Driving Under the Influence. She was released after signing for the citation.

Driving Under the Influence is a serious offense that puts not only the driver at risk, but everyone else on the road. A simple traffic violation, like failing to stop at a stop sign, can quickly lead to a DUI charge when impairment is suspected.

The Easton Police Department continues to enforce traffic laws and monitor for impaired drivers throughout the community. Residents are reminded that DUI checkpoints and patrols are an ongoing part of local law enforcement efforts.
