Federal Manor Shed Fire Ruled Intentional
Federalsburg, MD - On August 7, 2026 at approximately 4:59 a.m, the Federalsburg Volunteer Fire Company responded to the 700 block of Routzahn Lane in Federalsburg, Maryland for a structure fire at the Federal Manor Apartment Complex.
The fire broke out in a 12 by 12 foot wood framed shed used as the maintenance building for the apartment complex. A neighbor discovered the fire and reported it.
Crews had the fire under control within 30 minutes. Twenty five firefighters responded to the single alarm call. The fire stayed contained to the shed and did not spread to the apartment building.
The shed, the tools and equipment stored inside were damaged in the fire. Officials estimate the loss at $10,000 for the structure and $5,000 for the contents.
The fire started on the exterior of the shed. According to the Office of the State Fire Marshal, the preliminary cause of the fire has been ruled incendiary. At this time, no arrests have been made.
