Federalsburg Man Charged With DUI at Cambridge Wawa
Cambridge, MD - On September 18, 2026, at approximately 6:34 p.m., the Cambridge Police Department (CPD) responded to Wawa, located on Sunburst Highway in Cambridge, Maryland for a welfare check of a person who was reported inside a vehicle at a gas pump, slumped over.
Officers arrived and found the vehicle parked in a way that blocked other gas pumps. A man was seated in the driver seat, slouched over.
Officers woke the man, who was later identified as Jason Russell Williamson, 38, of Federalsburg, MD. Officers said he did not appear coherent, and they could smell alcohol coming from the vehicle.
Williamson was asked to take a Standardized Field Sobriety Test. He refused and was placed under arrest.
Officers searched the vehicle and found empty alcoholic beverage containers. Williamson was taken to CPD for further testing, which he also refused.
To make matters even worse, police learned that Williamson did not have a driver's license and the vehicle he was operating had no insurance, and its registration was suspended.
Williamson was issued traffic citations and released. He was charged with Driving While Under the Influence of Alcohol, Driving Vehicle While So Far Impaired by Drugs, Alcohol Cannot Drive Safely, and Driving Vehicle While Impaired by Alcohol.
He was also charged with Negligent Driving, Driving Vehicle with Suspended Registration, Driving Uninsured Vehicle, and Driving Without a License.
