Fire Damages Vacant Home on Chippewa Blvd in Salisbury, Maryland

Salisbury, MD - On September 29, 2026, at approximately 10:22 p.m., the Salisbury Fire Department responded to the 900 block of Chippewa Blvd, Salisbury, MD, for a house fire. 

A passerby discovered the fire and called it in. The home is a one-story, wood-framed, single-family dwelling.

It was a one-alarm response, and 25 firefighters worked at the scene. They had the fire under control in about 15 minutes.

The home was for sale and no one was living in it at the time. The fire started in an interior bedroom.

Damage to the structure is estimated at $45,000. Damage to the contents is estimated at $5,000.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Deputy State Fire Marshals are looking into what happened.
