Grays Corner Road in Berlin Closing September 29, 2026 for Repairs

Worcester County, MD - Drivers who use Grays Corner Road in Berlin will need to plan another route next week. A section of the road will close so crews can inspect and repair utilities.

The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (SHA) will close part of MD 707, also known as Grays Corner Road.

The work is being done for the Worcester County Department of Public Works.

The closure begins Tuesday, September 29. It covers the stretch of MD 707 between MD 589, also known as Racetrack Road, and Riddle Lane.

Crews expect to finish by Friday, October 2. That timeline depends on the weather.

The county hired Groundwork Solutions, Inc. of Berlin to do the work. Crews will be on site from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day until the job is done.

Drivers will be sent on a detour to US 50, also known as Ocean Gateway.

Atlantic Traffic Safety, Inc. of Berlin will use message signs, arrow boards, and cones to guide traffic along the detour.

The SHA said it knows detours and roadwork can be a hassle for some drivers. The agency said the work is needed to keep the state's roads safe and reliable.
