Gunfire Reported at Large Hurlock Block Party

Hurlock, MD - On the evening of August 8, 2026, Hurlock Police responded to Douglas Street and Gold Rush Lane for a large public gathering. The event was described as a "Pop Up Block Party" and drew a crowd of about 800 people.

According to police, several fights broke out during the event. Officers on scene stepped in and broke up the fights as they happened.

Gunfire was also reported in the area during the gathering. Police are still working to determine where the shots came from.

The investigation found that a motor vehicle and a structure were struck by gunfire. No one was injured by the gunfire, according to police.

This remains an active and ongoing investigation. Hurlock Police have not released information about any suspects at this time.
