Gunpoint Robbery Outside Mercado Latino in Cambridge
Cambridge, MD - On November 4, 2026, at approximately 7:27 a.m., the Cambridge Police Department began an investigation into an armed robbery that happened the night at Mercado Latino, which is located 100 block of Cedar Street, Cambridge, MD.
The call didn't come from the victims. It came from the employer of one of the victims, who reached out to police the next morning.
Police say the robbery happened at about 6:42 p.m. on November 3, 2026. A man and his wife had driven to the store and parked along the side of the building on Perimore Street.
The husband went inside the store. His wife stayed in the car.
While she was sitting there, two men walked up and opened the car door. They pulled out a handgun, pointed it at her and took her purse along with everything in it.
The two men ran off, and police don't know which way they went. The couple left the area after the robbery.
When officers talked with the victims and the employer, they learned about another attack that may be connected. About one week earlier, a different woman was approached in the same area by two men described as the same pair from the November 3 robbery.
A handgun was shown during that encounter, and the woman was pistol whipped. Police say they have no other details about her because the attack was never reported to them when it happened.
Right now, police don't have any other details to help identify the two men. The investigation is ongoing.
The Cambridge Police Department is asking any witnesses, or anyone else who may have been a victim, to come forward. If you have information, call the Cambridge Police Department at 410-228-3333.
